Standard
Tendons consist of single dia. 0.5" or 0.6". If no bond is
required the strand is coated with an organic compound and encased in a
plastic duct for preventing corrosion and reducing friction. In case of
bonded tendons, a corrugated metal duct is used and cement grouted after
completion of the stressing operation.
Stressable
Anchorages consist of an anchor-plate casting with a wedge seat.
A reusable pocket former provides a recess for the stressing jack. Special
care is given to the corrosion protection between the anchor-plate and the
duct.
Fixed
Anchorages are similar to stressable anchors. However the
anchoring wedges are preseated and secured e.g., by a spring.
Intermediate or Coupling
Anchorages are useful if a structure is concreted and
post-tensioned in sections. In the first case the strand is not
interrupted at the construction joint, in the second case a tendon is
joined later to an already stressed one. |
